A self-taught artist, Randy Elrod began wielding a brush at the age of forty-two after receiving a gift of an easel and watercolors from his wife. A lifelong love affair with graphite sketching provides a foundation for the watercolors and anchors his distinctive style. He especially enjoys painting travelscapes and the beauty of the female creation.
Friends describe Randy as a dreamer, artist, writer, mentor, teacher, musician and Renaissance man. He enjoys the sensory overload of climbing America’s highest mountains and once navigated the Uganik River with only a tent and raft in grizzly country for a week in the wilderness of Kodiak Island, Alaska. He has also completed eighteen full marathons.
After a successful career in music, Randy now enjoys the freedom to pursue his wildest dreams. He enjoys a marriage of 29 years with his childhood sweetheart, Chris. They delight in traveling the world, the sacraments of food and wine, the culinary arts, and hosting guests at their home “La Maison du Reves” in historic downtown Franklin, Tennessee. They have two daughters, a son-in-law and a Maltese named Taffy.
