What is your favorite movie of all-time and why?
Indiana Jones transported me to another world. A world of romance, rollicking adventure, caves, jungles, foreign lands and yes, even the Ark. And a lady that could hang right in there with Indy.
Fresh out of college, impressionable, and seeing a movie for the first time in surround sound and splashed across a giant screen.
Magic.
And did I say I hate snakes? Snakes, why did it have to be snakes?

I love the movie "Footloose". It was the first movie that I saw more than once at a theater. I loved the music and the way that even the underdog could learn to dance. I especially loved that Kevin Bacon quoted Ecclesiastes, I've never forgotten that there is a season for everything.

I loved Indian Jones!
I must admit I am fickle with the "favorite" label...so the favorite right now is Evan Almighty. It makes me laugh and it takes God seriously. Or rather: "Al Mighty".

Yes alexsandra - fickle is a good way to describe my favorites also. Right now it is a toss up between "Once" and "Little Miss Sunshine".

Sorry I'm not participating in the movie deal. "Once" was definitely a GREAT movie... but I'm into reading these days I guess!

I have to say that my all time favorite flick(s) is the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. I have watched them many times but still notice new things every time.

Shawshank Redemption and The Usual Suspects.

I would have to say that my favorite movie is Back to the Future. Along the same lines as you, Randy, when I saw that, it was magical. I wanted to be Marty McFly.

I love Raiders....in fact our pastor was preaching on the Ark a couple of weeks ago, when they started to bring it in from the back of the worship center, I plucked out the theme song--everyone laughed.
My new fave is NATIONAL TREASURE...I think it's an enduring series. I love history and this is right up my alley.

I'm going to have to go with the Bourne Trilogy. JB rocks!
P.S. Randy, I screwed up on Mr. Linky - is there a way to delete my re-posting of August Rush?
Posted by: marina | March 19, 2008 at 09:13 AM

Star Wars. Is there any other?

I'm having second thoughts about my favorite movie - I think I will have to go along with Marina's pick - I do have a Borne obsession - just ask my family, but LOTR's definitly comes in 2nd.
Posted by: Paul Fowler | March 19, 2008 at 12:24 PM
Definitely Back to the Future. It was a killer combination of great music, good storyline, colorful characters and an otherworldness.
Great Scott!

2. Citizen Kane
3. On Golden Pond
4. Casablanca
5. Terms of Endearment

Even though it's dark and sad, I chose Schindler's List.

I have SUCH a hard time narrowing down to one favorite movie. So, in the category of 'kid movies that don't annoy adults': How to Eat Fried Worms. Great story. Great film.

While I didn't blog about it, I must admit my favorite movie is Disney's Beauty and the Beast. I don't watch it nearly enough.

Randy,
Once again, I finally make my way to the virtual watercooler by Friday. I'm posting a little update to my Easter traditions from last week. Just as predicted: I'm running around the house with no makeup and hair pulled back, trying to be my grandma, my Mom, and me all at once.
Wish I was on the beach, but wouldn't trade making these memories for anything.

Absolutely, hands-down, don't-even-have-to-think-about-it... Steel Magnolias.
