Watercooler Wednesday-Favorite Apps
While researching for the Lifework 2.0 thinktank, I discovered a lot of great new web apps that are both fun and useful. Apps such as Flux, Ning, Slide, Magnify, UVNTV and the highly addictive Rock You
RockYou is a leading provider of applications and widgets on the web. RockYou widgets include photo slideshows, glitter text, customized Facebook applications and voicemail accessories that are simple to use and enable people to frequently refresh their online style. RockYou applications are customized for easy integration across all social networks including Facebook, MySpace, Bebo, Friendster, Tagged and hi5. RockYou's cost-effective, results-focused advertising platform is the largest Ad Network on Facebook and the most dynamic method for rapidly acquiring Facebook application users.
My LifeWork 2.0 video HERE was created with RockYou in less than 15 minutes and it was FUN!!!

Yeah! #1 on the carnival! Never been there before I got lucky because Vicky was really tired after class - LOL. Another lesson applied! Today was so great! LifeWorks 2.0 Rocks!!! I learned so much and I have never heard of half of these apps. I just entering Twitterland. So I was pretty excited about more people following me today :) But the creative side of me loves what you did with RockYou! I was presentation queen at GM. If it needed spin or to make an impact, they came to me. Unfortunately, that was in the day when I could make text fade in & out on a Powerpoint slide and they thought I was a superhero & the Intranet was a new buzz word - LOL. (Now I'm dating myself) But ROCKYOU makes me want to get back to it. Anyone in need of a great clip that ROCKS? Call me, we'll talk!

Twitter. Period. It has changed my life. And, it is changing the way I do ministry and talk to my congregation.

I actively use social networks, but no real web apps. I'll have to check out the recommendations!

Ah, Blogfather, we always depend on you to bring us something fresh and new. I've not heard of these before--so I'll have to check them out.
Watching on Mogolus yesterday made me sad--sad I wasn't with you. I had a friend who was watching with me- He said "That's where you want to be right now, huh?" I said (tearfully) "Yes!"
Rock On!

Facebook! My circle of influence happens mostly on facebook... Not only have we used its groups for ministry (my mens group communicates this way), but it also helps us organize events and keep up to date with my friends around the world...

I'm still splashing around the shallow end of some of the more popular webapps.
Generically, blogs and blogging have reshaped my life...

I'm using facebook and twitter more and more... but one that I think has a lot of promise is jott.com voice recognition to text message and other things. Just linked my jott to my twitter... this should be interesting.

Tumblr. You can set up a blog in 10 seconds. It is simple. It is elegant. Blog from your phone. Blog via text or twitter or IM. Or do it automatically through RSS.
There are no frills, and that is the point! I love it...
