WCW - My "Life List"
John Goddard is most known for his amazing “Life List”of accomplishments. At the age of fifteen Goddard listed 127 goals he wished to experience or achieve in his lifetime. The list is impressive and audacious, but the results have been truly incredible. The list includes exploring the Nile, climbing Mt. Everest, running a five-minute mile and playing Clair de Lune on the piano. Goddard does not believe in pursuing adventure for the sake of frivolous thrills, but uses these experiences to achieve a worthwhile end.
My list of completed goals: run a marathon, solo climb a 14,000 foot mountain, tent camp in Kodiak Island, Alaska with the grizzlies, an African safari, hike the Silk Road in Central Asia, perform as a solo artist at a major venue (Hoosier Dome), write a book, visit the Outback of Australia, dive the Great Barrier Reef, found an artist development center, sell a business to a major corporation, paint a watercolor, visit Florence, Italy; touch the Nile River, take a gondola ride in Venice, hear the bells in Oxford, England; hike every major American mountain range; tour the Louvre, Uffizzi, British National, Washington, Smithsonian, Metropolitan, Chicago, Getty, Borghese and Guggenheim Museums of Art, explore the Nile River, visit the Napa Valley and Tuscany wine regions, climb Mt. Whitney, climb Tetons, photograph Yosemite Falls, photograph Murchison Falls, see the Northern Lights, circumnavigate the world and more.
Goals still to be completed: touch every continent, explore the Amazon River, see the great pyramids of Egypt, visit Austria, Provence, wine regions of France, Spain and South Africa, see the remaining six new wonders of the world (have seen the Colosseum in Rome), complete a triathlon, have a grandchild, hike the entire Appalachian Trail, climb Denali, climb the Swiss Alps, study at The Kilns, learn to speak Russian and Spanish, and many more too numerous to mention.
What about you? What ONE major goal would you like to complete on your "life list"? Tell me HERE.
