WCW - Your Favorite Restaurant?
Chris and I celebrated our 29th anniversary (Wow! Hard to believe!) this evening at a restaurant on my friends Dennis Worley and Billy Ray Hearn recommendation. Andrew Chadwick's at Rutledge Hill is now officially my new favorite restaurant not only in Nashville, but the entire Southeastern United States. Wow! Andrew personally gave us a tour afterwards to see their kitchen and induction oven (the only one like it in the entire U.S. of A.) and gardens that will eventually provide most of their vegetable fare.
The magnificent residence took over 16 months to ready for the opening. Andrew and his wife have been serving their exquisite culinary arts masterpieces there for only six months. There is no place like it in all of Tennessee. Amazing.
Seared Diver Scallops, Composition of Fennel, Citrus Salad, Foie Gras, French Beans, Smoked Garlic, Smoked Beets, Prime Tenderloin of Beef, Wild Mushroom Hash, Red Wine Demi to complement the sumptuous nectar that was a present from my dear friend and wine connoisseur Dan Perkins. Dan's gift was a Turley 2004 Napa Valley Petite Syrah Library Vineyard. Chris and I agree that it was one of the best wines we have ever tasted. A robust, opaque, big wine that provided an exquisite nose of earthly delight followed by a taste of pepper, oak and subtle fruit that lingered on a finish that seemed to last forever! I happened to finish my main course with a bite of a smoked beet followed by a sip of the wine and my gosh!!! Exquisite! Looonnngg tannins on the finish. One of the biggest wines I have ever experienced and a great match for the tenderloin and foie gras.
How about you? What is your favorite restaurant? Your best dining experience? The culinary arts truly showcase a rare creative form. Andrew Chadwick is indeed an artist of exceptional talent!
